A Layered Blue Dresser and a Happy Accident

December 17, 2013 By Reeves @ The Weathered Door 12 Comments

Layered Blue MP Dresser WD-1
This lovely is painted in two colors of blue, MMS Flow Blue and an OFMP color, just one painted right over the other. The plan was never to get this sort of look, but it’s such a happy accident! The finish on the piece is super smooth and the layering and sheerness of the paint allows so many variations of blue to come through along with the warm wood tones. I honestly don’t think I could have achieved this look if I tried, but hopefully now I know the technique to do it again. The piece is finished off with new hardware and I love the juxtaposition of the layered finish with the silver and white knobs.

I love this!!! I found you on missmustardseed.com. Question did you apply the two blue colors to the whole thing completely? Do you had sand it or sand it with a sander?
