Turquoise Clover Side Table

April 10, 2013 By Reeves @ The Weathered Door Leave a Comment

I picked up this Ethan Allen clover shaped side table at a sale on Friday. It had a fun little shape, but needed some paint to freshen it up.

If I am using a color other than grey, it is usually a variation on blue or green. I had a sample pot of paint from Lowes in this light turquoise color, and thought it would be fun for the table. There was one deep scratch on the top, but otherwise it was in great condition. I used 100, then 150 grit sandpaper to dull and rough up the shiny finish, and then gave it 3 coats of paint. After curing over night, it was finished with Minwax Wax, and buffed out. It was a quick project for me!

I actually made the pillow. It was just plain white fabric remnant I found at goodwill, then I cut out that shape, traced it on, then used acrylic paint mixed with fabric medium (from a craft store, mine was less than $2) to painted each row a fun color. After that is was sewn into a pillow. Pretty simple project, but I love the way it turned out!
