Today’s the Day

March 11, 2016 By Reeves @ The Weathered Door 13 Comments

University of Washington Bothell

Today’s the day I’ve been waiting on for the last 3 and 1/2 years. I have graduated from college!

Content on this blog has been severely lacking due to limited time on my end to devote to projects. Health problems, a max class load each quarter, a woodworking internship, and part time Interior Design Assistant position have been where my priorities lied the past 5 months. Now that I have graduated my evenings and weekends that were spend on homework and class projects can now be spend on furniture and DIY projects… and just in time for some good spring weather. New content and posts will be coming your way soon.

On a side note I have spent my last two quarters catering and choosing classes the relate to my interests and help me gain and develop skill that apply to by business/this blog and my job. One of those is photography, so I’ll leave you with one project from the quarter, our identity project:

Thanks for staying with me 🙂

Congratulations! Pat yourself on the back! You just completed a tough road! Happy dance for you.

It took me 10 years to graduate, working full time to pay my way through. Holding my diploma was blissful!

Thanks so much! It was tough, especially working while going to school in order to stay out of debt. I was able to finish early by taking on the more credits each quarter. Happy to be finished and have more time to do other things 🙂

Congratulations to you on your graduation! I’m so impressed by your drive and talent and look forward to seeing more posts from you again. Your information on how to work with laminated mid-century furniture has been very helpful to me in preparing to reno my parent’s mid-century Scandinavian credenza. Thanks!

Congratulations! It’s so funny because I was telling by husband that you haven’t blogged in a while and he said “she’s probably taking her mid-terms” lol. I love your work, you are very talented and your blog has been a huge help for me. I paint furniture too and your tips our awesome! I was very excited to find out that you took wood working and an interior design internship, those are two of my fave areas. You are going to be amazing, I can’t wait to continue following your work through out the years! So happy that your back! By the way, I wanted to let you know that, I painted a piece using one of yours as an inspiration. If you want to see it http://lillyshomedesigns.blogspot.com/2015/10/triple-threat-mcm-bookshelf.html I used one of your pictures, without cropping and I mentioned you in the post with a link back to your original post. I hope that you don’t mind.

Wow, impressive! I know how difficult it is to work, go to school full time and try to make time for DIY projects! My living room is a testimony to the projects I have while simultaneously working on contract law, psych, and calculus homework! Congratulations, relax, and have a bit of fun! You are a very driven individual and should be very proud of yourself. Your dedication and perseverance will take you far in the world! Again, congrats!
