It has been too long since I have gotten to paint a small little side table. I have been doing a lot of dressers lately… and that is not about to change, but this pedestal table just happened to make its way in there!
It started out plain and simple. I love pedestal tables and this one is perfect as a lovely side table or nightstand. The top had a big stain and some peeling finish (someone tried to hide the big boo boo with multiple layers of dark stain on the top). Since the finish was not well done, it sanded off in seconds with the orbital sander.
After a light sanding it was time for paint. I chose to use a dark navy on the table to keep it more classy and so I got out one of my new favorite paints, General Finishes Costal Blue milk paint. I just got sent some and had to try it out! I always paint with thin coats and absolutely love the consistency of this paint! It’s not as thick as most latex paints and it had great coverage… not to mention the gorgeous color. Once the paint dried and cured I sealed it with Maison Blanche clear wax.
This pedestal side table looks so dressed up in navy and is the perfect piece to add some elegance to a casual, coastal space.
